Twist-Tacks: Fasten to steel tubing or aluminum extrusions... without drilling.

Twist Tack The Twist-Tack is a self-piercing, one-step metal fastener that attaches thin materials to steel tubing, aluminum extrusions, or lightweight metal castings. Permanent fastening is achieved when the knurled section of the Twist-Tack engages the base metal with a cutting, twisting and wedging action. The Twist-Tack was developed for manufacturers who attach plastic, fabric, rubber and other materials to metal.

One step fastening

Twist-Tacks fasten quickly because they punch through the attachment and base metal, eliminating the need for drilling. Joins dissimilar materials, such as plastic to
aluminum Twist-Tacks can be used to attach a multitude of light gauge materials to a variety of base metals.

High withdrawal resistance

An anchor cone is formed from the Twist-Tack's wedging motion in the base metal, creating hundreds of pounds of withdrawal resistance.

Qualifying Your Twist-Tack Application

Twist-Tack Selection is based upon the part that is going to be fastened (attachment) and the material that it is going to be fastened to (base material).

Attachment: Typical attachments that do not require predrilled holes are sheet plastic, thin aluminum, impact resistant fiberglass, Velcro®, neoprene tubing caps, etc.

Base Material: Twist-Tacks will fasten to cast aluminum extrusions or thin steel tubing. Thicker ferrous materials may require a predrilled hole or another Amtak fastener.
Twist-Tack Material and Plating: Standard Twist-Tacks are manufactured from carbon steel and are either bright zinc plated or zinc plated with a dyed black finish. Both will pass a minimum of 120 hour salt spray test in accordance with ASTM B117.

Special Fasteners: Twist-Tacks may be manufactured from different materials in a wide variety of sizes to meet particular assembly requirements. Call us for details.
